PART 5  

     We return to Jerusalem after a long but inspiring day only to discover it was Israel's Independence Day! We somehow never connected the dots . .  the speech on the bus about Netanyahu's brother being killed in the war, the 2 minutes we froze in silence in the street at Nazareth to honor the dead, the Israeli flags displayed so prominently . . Israel's 4th of July! We wander the cool evening streets taking in the sights, including a concert. The next morning we get our first glimpse of the Mount of Olives and the temple mount, and while exploring the lower Kidron valley we receive an answer to prayer . . a guide named Shideh - but folks call him Chad. Isn't this fun?
